Financial Aid
At Real Salt Lake AZ, no child will be turned away because they cannot afford to play.
Real Salt Lake AZ offers this “Financial Aid” to assist economically disadvantaged families with improving their quality of life through our soccer program. To qualify for Financial Aid, families must meet criteria established by Real Salt Lake AZ. Application eligibility for financial aid will be reviewed and approved by RSL AZ’s Financial Aid Committee. To apply for Financial Aid, you need to complete the form below, along with a copy of your 2023 tax return and matching W2 and/or 1099s. Late applications may be considered if funds are still available during the monthly scholarship meetings.
Financial Aid Submission Deadline – June 14th: In order to be eligible for Financial Aid the club must have your completed application, with all required documentation included, by end of day Friday, June 14th. This provides the club ample time to review all applications and apply aid before the start of payment plans in July.
Eligibility Requirements: Real Salt Lake AZ requires verification of your household income along with this application. To be considered for Financial Aid, you must submit a copy of the first page of your 2022 U.S. Tax Return, W2s, & 1099s. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
A family’s annual income must be under the Federal Reduced-Price Meal income level, which is 185% of the Federal Poverty Level, to be eligible. This federal chart can be viewed online at https://www.fns.usda.gov/school-meals/income-eligibility-guidelines. Players may qualify for varying amounts of Financial Aid if they meet the Reduced-Price Meal income guideline.
Families approved for Financial Aid will be required to volunteer for RSL AZ. These hours will be worked in up to 6 hour shifts and include, but not limited to these job duties: Saturday field work in our Recreational Program, tournaments, and other volunteer work as needed. Families must provide one adult (or child 15 or older) to cover each shift.
If you do not qualify for financial aid benefits we will contact you to discuss other work-study options or extended payment plans.
At a minimum, each player will be responsible for a Registration Fee of $150. The remainder of the season’s club fees will be split over the next 9 months in monthly installments. If you submit a financial aid application and are accepted, the remainder of your payments will be adjusted based on the scholarship amount awarded. Players new to the RSL AZ program will be responsible for purchasing their own uniform kit and paying all their team/travel fees. The registration amount can be set up on a payment plan for the season but must be paid in full prior to end of season.
